Help! My garage door won't open!

This is a plaintive cry our Boulder Garage Door team often hear. Where there's an automatic opener attached, it might simply be a loss of power to the device. This said, or if you don't have the automatic opener facility, the cause is often a broken spring.

There are two of these, one located at either side of the door; either attached to the wall above the door opening, or if you have them, by the horizontal tracks attached to the ceiling. Wherever they are located, a quick check for any gaps will confirm you need a spring replacement.
